The golden years of substitute teaching

April 1, 2010 by John

I have no idea how old Dan Myers’s daughter is, but it is too bad that the print industry is dying before she has a chance to take it over.  Dan has scanned the pages of her Home News, which is “The think about it newspaper” and features extensive coverage of the impending end of days.  The paper is full of useful information, such as the fact that if your favorite activity is eating chips you are doomed, but my favorite part is the breakdown by age of what you will be doing in 2012 on page 4.  I particularly like the idea that after many years of employment and raising children I can look forward to “Becoming a substitute teacher” in my late 50s.  There are many worse people to pattern your life after than Dorothy Zbornak.
